Denise Milan will be the only artist selected from the list of important names of architects and interior designers invited to “Windows CASACOR”, a special edition of the largest and most complete exhibition of architecture and landscaping in the Americas. From November 8, the public will have the opportunity to check out the project “Earth, everyone's home”, created especially for the event, with the main highlight being the installation “Earth Banquet”.

Mounted on a showcase container, a solution created by the curator of CASACOR due to the postponement of this year's edition, due to the Covid-19 pandemic (coronavirus), the work will be on display until December 8th, in front of DAN Gallery, corner of United States and Haddock Lobo streets in Jardins.

Banquet - Curated by Marcello Dantas, the installation was created from the work “Earth Banquet”, in which Denise Milan revisits fragments of glass and other minerals. “A banquet served with dishes that reveal the metamorphosis of the Earth, offering palates that expand our connection with nature”, defines the artist.

The installation also features a poem by Denise Milan, “Petrophagia”, which was born with the work. It is worth mentioning that a version of “Earth Banquet” is currently on display at the Unbreakable: Woman in Glass exhibition in Venice.

Symbolism - For the artist, the project affects us by its metaphor and brings meaning to humanity. “One of the things we miss most during confinement was sitting around a table with friends and family. The banquet is an invitation to taste the minerals, chew our origins, digest this knowledge and radically transform our perception of Nature”, point Denise.

She also assesses the fact that her work is shown at a time like this as being "crucial for the planet". It is necessary to reframe survival within the context of the pandemic. “Banquet” reposition human beings and their meaning on Earth”, adds Denise Milan.
