DENISE MILAN / TrincAr
video of the installation for the 13th Mercosul Biennial, General Curatored by Marcello Dantas
“TrincAr” is a metaphor for existence.
The tear in the wall brings out the ‘drama of matter’ where the air bubble is the place of conflict, “Of to be or not to be”: quartz can exist or disappear… Through the rupture, we penetrate the 130 million year old matter and contemplate its teachings.
The structures, cracked, make visible the alchemy that points the way to survival.
Healing is the overcoming of conflict.
TrincAr
(The crack breathes)
A fissure erupted...
cra cra crac cracsand
I howl, squirm, scream
rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
Run out of air
agitated, disoriented, unstable
I persist
Transformation
Metaphysical dance
dancing molecules
forms atoms of matter
a breath of hope
healing begins
Bubbling bubles
the scar is announced
I catch my breath
Life flows
Recovered,
Breathing matter
